Africa Film For Impact Festival (AFFIF) is dedicated to showcasing, celebrating, and empowering films and filmmakers committed to social change themes in movie production across the continent of Africa and the world.
The maiden edition of the film held via Virtual Access from November 3-7, 2020. The Virtual Film Festival which screened short and feature narrative and documentary films over a 5 day period, also featured film premieres, master classes, panel discussions, workshops, and climax with an Impact Award ceremony, which honored extraordinary achievements in filmmaking and driving social change through films. Partners at the festival includes The MacArthur Foundation, UNODC, University of Cape Town South Africa, Women In Film & Television Africa, WARIF, CODE, Actors Guild of Nigeria, Directors Guild of Nigeria, among others.
The 2021, festival activities did not hold, rather awards were given to outstanding films with social change themes in different category. The 2023 edition of Africa Film For Impact Festival will hold for the first time a physical edition, at the Silverbird Cinemas, 1161 Memorial Drive, by Musa Yar Adua Centre, Central Business District Abuja, while also streaming to a global audience virtually.
